Tyson Childress CPA is an accounting firm that’s committed to providing clients in the Locust, NC area with reliable service. Our qualified staff adheres strongly to the tenants of professionalism, responsiveness, and quality; it is our goal to provide you with service that is tailored specifically to your needs, whether you are an individual or a business.

Wesley Tyson: Wesley is the founding partner of the predecessor firm to Tyson Childress CPA. He graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a BA in accounting, after which he immediately began working in public accounting. He obtained his CPA license in 2012. Wesley has experience with all aspects of accounting, though his passion is in working with family-owned businesses, non-profit organizations, and construction companies. He is a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), as well as being a QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor.

Scott Childress: Scott joined Tyson Childress CPA as a partner in 2019. He graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 2000 and is a licensed CPA. After graduating, he began working with a world-wide accounting firm, gaining extensive experience. He spent ten years working in private industry as a CFO and Controller of an entrepreneurial group, and led the Forecasting, Budget Planning and Analytics team for a large non-profit healthcare company. He uses this extensive experience to assist with taxes, audits, reviews, compilations, and consulting services.

Angie Fink: Angie is a senior accountant; her role at the firm includes assisting with income tax preparation, assisting with bookkeeping, helping with payroll, and handling sales tax compliance. She graduated from NC State University with a BS in accounting, and began working in public accounting in 2002.

Taylor Griffin: Taylor first joined Tyson Childress CPA as an intern while attending Wingate University, and joined the firm as a staff accountant upon graduation. She later obtained her Masters of Business Administration, and hopes to become a Certified Public Accountant in the near future. She handles audit procedures, bookkeeping, and preparation of tax returns.

Carla Hill: Carla is a graduate of Wingate University with a degree in education. She taught for 24 years in the private Christian school sector and NC public schools system before joining Tyson Childress CPA. She is a bookkeeper for the firm and performs some administrative and payroll tasks.

Kerri Fraley: Kerri is and administrative assistant with the firm, and has over 13 years of experience in accounting. Kerri is a go-getter, and makes it her personal mission to make sure every client that walks through the doors of the firm feels welcome.
